Dear list,

I'm now on the last version published by environmental DB (postgresql 9.2 64 bits) and still on windows 7 with a postgis 2.0.1 installation.

Following the issues mentionned in the previous post, I tried several approaches to use raster2pgsql to load a raster in postgis. We have added environmental variables, we have desactivated the firewall, antivirus but nothing still works. We also compare our two set-up of windows-7 using EVEREST Ultimate Edition (trial version) and we have also founded nothing there.

We gave a try to theextension "Load Postgis Raster to QGIS' provided by Mauricio de Paulo (v. 0.5.4) and everything works well. Unfortunately, this solution is not optimal if we want to upload many, many, many rasters in the database.

By reporting this result, I hope that it will give a hint to someone for a potential solution.

Regards.

Jean-Daniel

Le samedi 3 novembre 2012 08:30:15 UTC-4, jean-daniel Sylvain a écrit :
Good moring Bborie,

First time I used this installation process on the gis4free page: http://gis4free.wordpress.com/2011/03/10/how-to-install-and-configure-postgis-raster-on-windows/.

Yesterday I used the installation provide by enterprise db (winx86-64).

http://www.enterprisedb.com/products-services-training/pgdownload

I don't think the problem is directly related to raster2pgsql, since it works on similar installation/computer.
Strange indeed. I would know what's going on in raster2pgsql as I
wrote the loader. Which Windows installer are you using? A link to
that installer would be nice. The same goes for all the other
applications in the stack.
You don't need the GDAL python bindings for PostGIS.
>> I would prefer to share my computer with you (;)).
>>
>> Seriously, I don't think the problem is with the raster. We imported the same image in an other postgis database (version 2.0) without any problem. I try to import several others images with my raster2pgsql and we still have the same result.
>>
>> I will share you a link where you will find the image with Ubuntu one. It should be down there.
>>
>> Hope I won't have to re-install all my gear.
>> If it's not okay, I will send you the image via email.
