<p class="MsoNormal">Yesterday during the final hours of the FOSS4G meeting in Bucharest the<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">2019 OSGeo Sol Katz Award was given to Even Rouault. Even has received<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">the award based on his huge body of work on many OSGeo projects, including<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">PROJ. I know that many think that Even should have received the award a<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">long time ago (me included), but in the light of the massive effort Even<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">has put into creating PROJ 6 and GDAL 3 over the last year and a half I<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">think the timing of the award couldn't be better.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><o:p> </o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">I can't think of a more well-deserving recipient of the award.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">Congratulations Even and thank you for all your work!<o:p></o:p></p>

<p class="MsoNormal">For those of you who did not attend the meeting in person, the award<o:p></o:p></p>

<p class="MsoNormal">is an excellent summary of the all the changes that came along with PROJ 6<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">and most definitely of interest to all subscribers of this mailing list.<o:p></o:p></p>
