<div class="">It’s very cool that you want to contribute to PROJ! I think it is a great way to spend your internship but I am afraid that it may be difficult to find a dedicated supervisor for you. Personally I would have to do such work in my spare time and
I can’t justify doing that without proper compensation. I suspect that would be the same for most other PROJ developers. </div>

<div class="">Why don’t you tell us some more about how internships work at your school (what requirements are there, etc). Do you have a particular area of focus that you want to work on? If your school allow it and you are willing to work mostly self-guided
you may be able to get by with a bit of input from regular PROJ developers via the mailing list. Generally we like to help new contributors get started but you shouldn’t expect to get supervision like you would from one of your teachers.</div>

I am a Geomatics Engineering student from the french National School for Geographical Sciences (<a href="http://www.ensg.eu/?lang=en" title="http://www.ensg.eu/?lang=en" class="">ENSG</a>) where we use PROJ a lot. It is particularly used in Geodesy class but
also indirectly in many other fields (since PROJ is used as a building block in many softwares). As such I find that we, students, owe a lot to the community that develops and maintains this software and I would like to thank you all for what you do!</div>
