Ok, Modules 8 (Raster) and 10 (Plugins) are updated and George has
already pulled them. See the other thread about Modules 14, 15 and the
new one about DB Manager etc that is now 16.

I went ahead and setup a milestone in github for this porting effort.
https://github.com/qgis/QGIS-Documentation/issues?milestone=1&state=open

The main outstanding modules are 7 (Vector Analysis) and 9 (Completing
the Analysis). I will go ahead and keep working on these next week and
hoping to have help from Victor Olaya. I believe George should be done
with 11 (Online Resources) shortly, and Im not sure about the status
of Module 6 (Creating Vector Data).

Beyond that, we need to update the Appendix and Answer sheet. George,
lets try to chat about that next week.

I'm also keen to have a discussion about issue #190 concerning the
sample data. It makes sense to make it as easy as possible to switch
to a different set of exercise data for a local area with minimal
updates to the docs themselves (i.e. remove direct references to
Swellendam etc). This may require a bit of discussion on how best to
do that. Might be good to have a script that can grab the necessary
data from OSM and potentially SRTM based on a bbox and create a
localized exercise_data directory. This will take a bit of thinking
and editing, but I think its doable and a good idea.

Talk to yall next week, have a good weekend.

Jeff

Ideally, all the screenshots should be on the same platform (for visual consistency) and it would make sense for the data shown in the screen grabs to be the new sample data with the same symbology throughout. And wherever possible, we can use the icons defined in the repo’s conf file.

However, it would be great if you could pick a module and update the text for 2.0 - anything after module 6. It might also be an idea to go through the new “preparing data” section in the introduction to make sure what I’ve described makes sense! At this stage, we’re not prioritising adding instructions for new features, but if you come across any glaring 2.0 omissions which could be incorporated into the workflow, please do add them.
