I will take advantage of this topic to ask the following:

Is there a GRASS command that we can use to list all available GRASS
modules? I have asked in gis.stackexchange but without sucess.

http://gis.stackexchange.com/questions/179079/how-to-list-the-available-grass-modules-in-command-line/179289#179289

The thing is, at the users manual, we say that there are modules (and
parameters) only available by using the GRASS shell. I think we should
inform the users how to search for those non.gui modules.

In GRASS 7.1 there is now a *g.search.modules* module that do what I was
looking for. For prior versions, at least in linux, you can type `r.` and
press TAB key twice to display all possibilities. But I was trying to find
something more elegant.
