I think this is a difficult situation: not having enough development 
force even if the money (small as it may be) is there is a double (maybe 
triple, if we consider the somewhat reasonable position of Maciek) 
frustration. Releasing a (too) buggy version is bad, waiting any longer 
is ugly, frustrating donors is unwise.
I believe the current strategy is probably the best we can do about: 
release as soon as possible, when *all* critical bugs (we have 7 now), 
and as many as possible among the major ones (N=15) are fixed.
Also, some of the bugs do not appear hard to fix (eg 286, 310), or have 
been introduced by recent commits (eg 444, 445), so it should not be too 
heavy to revert them.
Perhaps bug bounty strategy would be a more sensible way of investing 
the funds we have? Would some of the current devs would be interested in 
participating to he hunt?
