[Qgis-developer] Further improvements of the atlas serial printing

 Dear QGIS users,

 We will be financing two improvements in the atlas serial printing 
 functions of the print composer:

 * ability to order the pages in the multipage PDF based on an attribute 
 column and sort order
 * ability to filter the set of pages (e.g. only print pages for 
 features with ID 4,6,8) based on an expression

 The work will be done by Oslandia, the ones who originally worked on 
 Atlas serial printing. I just wanted to let you know that someone is 
 working on it.

 The other reason I am contacting you is that I have additional wishes 
 and ideas for serial printing and reporting which I can't finance now.

 One is:

 * ability to supply a list of desired map scales and grid spaces for 
 the mapgrid - Atlas would pick the one scale from the list where the 
 feature fully fits in. E.g. one would supply the following mapscales: 
 1000,2000,2500,5000,7500,10000,12500,15000,2000,25000 and grid spaces: 
 25,30,50,75,100,...

 There is already a list of map scales in the project settings. Maybe we 
 can enhance it with corresponding grid spaces.

 Would someone have an interest in financing this feature? If yes, 
 please contact me.

 Further along I want to see QGIS morph into a reporting tool (similar 
 to Jasper) where one could also print data sheets with photos, tables, 
 charts, etc. - but directly from QGIS - and also available through QGIS 
 server through extended GetPrint commands.

 Maybe something to discuss in Valmiera at the hackfest.
