[Qgis-developer] Composer Legend items: what are the differences between "auto-update" and "update all" options?

It's indeed not very elegant nor intuitive. I've thought about a pushbutton
that would stay pushed when automatic option is on and released to stop
automatic updating. But I couldn't find somewhere we have tools using this
kind of effect in QGIS.
