[Qgis-developer] How should the dissolve tool in Processing work?

Could you elaborate on that? Does it do stats for every suitable field? 
This would multiply the number of fields in the output, besides there 
could be problems with field names (dbf has 10 signs if I recall 
correctly) or can you choose the which field to run the stats on? How 
many fields?
