great, so I would suggest try underestand why the tools here

https://github.com/qgis/QGIS/blob/master/python/plugins/fTools/tools/doGeoprocessing.py

are so bad with such "problematic" datasets (that I can easily
provide). If is possible to do something
then take João company offer use it to improve the situation, then we
can decide with calm were to put the
shortcuts :)
