Hi Gary, All,<br><br>Thank you for the script..<br>what about a little revolution in context help management though?<br><br>As a girl (and girls doesn't like numbers) I was thinking about renaming context help files to the name of a particular .ui file it is connected to. That would require changes in code calling this help file, byt maybe it is worth it.<br>
<br>Having such names it would be easier to manage context help and to say which files are missing at first glance in both directories. No need to create a database what belongs where ;)<br><br>Having a human-like name of the context help files might encourage the translators to improve help files when they find something unclear. They will just know at once which dialog should be opened to check if the help is still validate - we are changing the GUI frequently after all.<br>

Having heard nothing from my previous email as to a preference for<br>
dealing with this issue, I created and committed a Python script to<br>
generate unique IDs for use in the context sensitive help system.<br>
<br>
A context id is generated from the class it is associated with (eg. QgsAbout).<br>
<br>
Please note that this is a change in the way IDs are generated<br>
(previous method used a Java-only solution) so existing IDs can be<br>
reproduced using the new script. The existing IDs can remain as<br>
is---they do not need to be changed unless a conflict occurs with a<br>
newly generated ID (I don't anticipate this happening).<br>

The script is in the QGIS source tree in SVN: ./scripts/context_help_id.py<br>
