Um, sorry. I meant to say 1.7 doesn't have python and ECW/MrSID support yet.<br>
1.6 has support for point - that's the point.<br>

I use only the gdal 1.7 on Ubuntu and all works fine. And I have the <br>
python-gdal 1.7.2 too.<br>
So, what do you mean saying "no python support"?<br>
