Hi kate,
You can try writing to developper's list. I'm copying this dialog there.
I don't know how hard it is to develop a dxf exporter. IMHO it shouldn't be so hard as gdal has a dxf writer.
It should probably be just a
That's a real shame. Is there a way to strip out the attributes, just leaving the linework? From what I can see, QGIS needs at least one attribute to make a new table, so you can't create a new table with no attributes and copy the linework across. Is that right?

As far as I know there isn't any working tool to handle this situation.
Hi,

Wondering if you can help me - I've been trying to understand why I can't get QGIS to export to DXF. I found this thread and thought you might be able to help me:-

http://osgeo-org.1803224.n2.nabble.com/Autocad-DXF-and-Microstation-DGN-Save-As-td6053944.html

I'm guessing it has something to do with DXF not being able to read the attribute fields, but I'm confused as to why the basic linework won't export.

I must confess to not understanding a whole lot of the post - I'm just an end user, not a software developer. All I really want to be able to do is export a shapefile (or selection from a shapefile) to dxf.

Any help you could give me would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Kate
