ahh I see what you mean now. The zoom in tool seems to have the right behavior but zoom out seems to just step the same no matter what size of the box.

- Nathan

On Mon, Aug 15, 2011 at 7:13 AM, Anders Larsson <anders.larsson@ebc.uu.se> wrote:
I guess it does..... why I missed this is because it doesn't work As
I expected - I guess i don't understand the algorithm.
It only works if you draw a narrow box from bottom to top or right
to left, - not if you draw box from left to right or top to bottom
(or a wide box).
Also there is no way of zooming out less than 50%.

I don't know if this behaviour is a bug or a feature - it doesn't
work as ArcMap/Mapinfo which might turn potential users down a bit.

I find it very useful to be able too zoom out much or little

how big "zoom box" I draw with the zoom out tool.
In ArcMap it works like this: A large zoom-box makes a small
zoom out. A
small zoom-box makes a big change in scale.
And I really want to congratulate all developers on a really
impressive
GIS-tool, and the speed of development is amazing,
