Here is what I did:<br>

Fork on github<br>
Clone on my pc<br>
Edit some cpp, h and ui files.<br>
Create a build-ma folder in the qgis directory as explained here

Run ccmake .. <br>
Set CMAKE_INSTALL_PREFIX to /home/denis/opt/builds2<br>
And then, make, make install<br>
