<br></div>Also, while ideally a product should be shipped regression-free, this needs to be balanced with a practical need to actually release a product in a timely fashion too. People are - at least in Southeast Asia - expecting a major update of QGIS by mid 2013, and IMO that expectation should be matched as closely as humanly possible. <br>
