- a layer label option: in this case you have to change the behavior for each layer<br>
- a composer option: you make the choice when you export to svg, in this case you don't see the result until you open the svg<br>

Thanks for addressing this issue!<br></blockquote><div><br></div><div>The issue is not actually fixed. The associated pull request only turns on 3/4-working code. A full fix should be forthcoming after the feature freeze. If a full fix for exporting text-as-text for SVG/PDF can not be verified with unit tests, then the option will need to be removed.<br>

For me, the most obvious place to put this option would be in the print composer. Maybe close to the "print as raster" option?<br>
