<p>While discussing the merit of retaining the 'Colour Scale Bar' plugin in the repo with Paolo (see email trail below) I've raised the following points because I do not know if this is possible at present in QGIS (didn't find how to do it!):</p>

<ul>

<li>How to control the number of displayed decimals in the raster scale bar other than manually?</li>

<li>It seems that decimation of long colour bars is done when the scale bar is created but cannot be modified afterwards, implying that resizing of the legend is not possible other than changing the symbol height. Is this the correct behaviour, or do I miss something?</li>

<p>I didn't realise how far the composer has changed!</p>

<p>But, there are still questions/problems with it:<br />- How to control the number of displayed decimals? I didn't find an easy way to to it.<br />- Resizing does not work, one has to change the Symbol->Symbol height value, and this leads to ugly results when symbol height is less or equal to font size.<br />- There is no automatic decimation of ticks. Tick decimation happens when the legend is created. Afterwards the number of ticks does not change if the legend is resized.</p>

<p>Anyway, if you think my plugin is not necessary anymore I will be happy to remove it from the QGIS repo.</p>
