I believe the installer was modified to use the release numbers, as there were issues with some characters in the release package name on Windows (such as "Nødebo"[1]). Therefore we now have "C:/Program Files/QGIS 2.16.0"
Hi,

downloaded 2.16.1 Windows installer, to do a fresh install (to test
Akbar's resource sharing stuff on windows....).

And found that it tries to install in
C:\Program Files\QGIS 2.16.1

I'm happy with that, but was wondering: is this by accident or by purpose?

The good news off course is that you can install 2.16.0 2.16.1 2.16.2
etc etc on one machine, but we did not do that when the install path was
'QGIS Lyon' etc....

Plz ignore this if not relevant..

Regards,
