<p>That probably depends on the topography and ruggedness in your
country ;-) in german language we have translations for these
terms:</p>
<p>"Analytische Schattierung" or "Schummerung" and
"Rauhigkeitsindex".</p>
<p>Forgive my not so "serious" response here.</p>

<p>That is correct. Terms like "Hillshade", "Ruggedness index" and
and a *lot* of other terms doesn't have a "proper" translation
(at least in Danish). I assume that's the case for a lot of
languages. <br>

related terms that is *not* to be translated. There
is a lot of GIS terms that is English in origin, but
haven't a well defined local translation. (With some
hilarious results if they are translated). Not all
translators is well versed in every aspect of GIS.
