Hi

When publishing plugins a developer can choose any name to give
their plugin. At what point do we act to prevent users from using
known product names as their plugin name.

A typical example of the pluginĀ GeoNod.
Taking this name at face value a users might associate it as the
official plugin fromĀ GeoNode. I have opened an issue
asking the author to reconsider naming his plugin to something different.

Should we enforce anything related to this or we just leave it as
it is and we let the end users decide. I think we could add some
rough guidelines to the publishing page to nudge developers to
have names that are distinct and separate from known established
      products.

If i was an owner of Nike and someone produces a product called
Nik and sells it next to my shoes would i be worried ?, maybe not,
      but food for thought.

Regards

Admire
