Hi

Personally I don't see how this offers any real benefit to us:

- we have an update mechanism via osgeo4w on windows and apt on linux
- the 'award' (a badge that certifies that we are free software) is
largely meaningless - in fact it probably confuses the word free
(small f) with the true meaning of Free (big F) that our software is
licensed under.
- I dont like the idea of cluttering our web site with links / logos
that have marginal relevance to our project - I prefer that we keep
the site clean and unafiliated unless it represents some tangible
benefit to us
- the actual software being promoted here is not FOSS (best I can make
out) and I would prefer to use an open alternative if this ever became
functionality we needed (or simply write our own update checker which
should be relatively trivial).

So in summary, its a -1 from me

Regards

Tim
