Hi all.
I didn't want to criticize - obviously we are all busy.
I'm just wandering if we can do something to smooth out things. I'm
mostly worried about making new contributors feel welcomed, and not
frustrating them.

Yes, but this will require extra work from newcomers: they will do it
if they trust it is not wasted.
