Dear Community,

This is a call for interest for companies interested in applying for
funding to manage two QGIS-centric positions: a documentation writer and a
web developer.

The QGIS PSC has decided to prioritise documentation and web
development/cloud infrastructure work in 2023. Due to many unfruitful
trials to find willing and enthusiastic volunteer community members that
would step up and help the small teams doing an immense job, the PSC has
decided to propose a budget item for financing two professionally paid
contributors in 2023.

These positions are expected to be full-time contract positions for one
year. Given our constrained budget, the positions are best suited for
persons of a more junior experience level and/or from countries where the
cost of living is lower.

The process we envisage is as follows:

   1.

Budget item allocated for professional contributors for 2023.
   2.

Call for Expressions of Interest (EOIs) from companies interested in
managing the two professional contributors (duration two weeks: 30.01.23 -
   12.02.23).
   3.

   Voting on Budget approval 12.02.23.
   4.

Voting on companies that have responded to the EOI (duration two weeks:
   13.02.23 - 26.02.23).
   5.

   Appointment of EOI respondent (27.02.23).
   6.

Managing company to appoint the two professional contributors in
   consultation with PSC.
   7.

Professional contributors to commence work and provide regular feedback
to the community, similar to those participating in Google Summer of Code
would do (Target is early April).
   8.

Completion of the one-year contract period.
   9.

Community review of these activities with consideration for renewal in
   2024.

The available budgets items are as follows:

   -

   Documentation writer EUR 20K
   -

   Web developer EUR 15K

The interested company would be able to finalise the hiring process, manage
and coach the contractor throughout the entire contract period.

For any questions or for interest, please contact me.

Cheers

Marco
