<p>Thank you for preparing the two screenshots.</p>

<p>I don't have a very strong opinion - both look good to me.</p>

<p>However, I would propose to get rid of the small texts - both the "Linuxhotel" (if we would go with that version) and the "Map courtesy of Stadt Essen".</p>

<p>We can put the "Map courtesy of Stadt Essen" text into the QGIS about dialog. We did the same with QGIS 2.0 (Dufour), where we had to put a copyright notice about the map into the about screen. Sorry I don't have a screenshot of this old about screen anymore.</p>

<p>But the idea is to put that text just below the GNU license URL. We could put two sentences there:</p>

<p>- QGIS Splash screen map courtesy of Stadt Essen</p>

<p>- Thanks to the Linux hotel (Essen) for hosting the 2012 and 2014 developer meetings</p>
