Dear Matthew,

Thank you for your contact.

Unfortunately, we currently don't have a PSC member living in
the US. I don't know if any PSC has time to travel to the US on
May 5 - please PSC colleagues, speak up, if you could travel.
There is, however, a QGIS core dev (Larry Shaffer, see his e-mail
in cc) who is quite involved with the project and could
potentially speak at your event.

Regarding QGIS and Web-GIS:

QGIS server is a OGC compatible Mapserver that can use the QGIS
project files as configuration. It means that you can prepare your
project in QGIS desktop and deploy it to the web through QGIS
server.

Regarding the Web-GIS client, there are two projects: QGIS Web
Client 2 and Lizmap. They are kind of "friendly competitors" with
slightly different goals or technologies involved. See
https://github.com/qgis/qwc2-demo-app and
https://github.com/3liz/lizmap-web-client - theoretically, you
could use other Web Clients with QGIS server as well, but they
wouldn't be as tightly integrated with QGIS server as QGIS Web
Client 2 or Lizmap are.

Perhaps my colleagues from the PSC have more ideas regarding your
request.

There is, theoretically a QGIS user group in the US: www.qgis.us
- although it doesn't seem to be active - last meeting is from
2014.

Greetings,

Andreas
I am contacting you from my personal gmail account on behalf
of MAC URISA (Mid Atlantic Chapter Of the Urban Regional
Information Systems Association). We are a volunteer
Professional GIS Organization that is hosting an event
regarding Web GIS on May 5, in Bordentown NJ, USA. We consist
of approximately two hundred and fifty members located
throughout all of New Jersey, Delaware, South Eastern
Pennsylvania and parts of New York.

to invite a QGIS representative to participate in our upcoming
event and whether you have any available representatives
located in our area. I would be grateful for any further
information and the opportunity to discuss this potential
further. I was hoping to have a representative from your
steering committee attend and present the direction QGIS is
headed specifically when considering WebGIS, to our
membership. Content for this event will include data source
and publishing, internet web map and web mapping applications
and I would like a section on anything pertaining to QGIS and
the internet.
