It is highly appreciated!</div><div><br></div><div>QGIS native 3D rendering was funded by QGIS.org and was carried out by us in QGIS 3.0. Since then, there have been some major improvements (see QGIS change logs [2], [3], [4] *) either through our crowd-funded campaign [5] or funded by individuals or organisations. In recent months, my colleagues have been helping through Google Summer of Code to improve navigation and measurements in 3D. We have submitted a proposal to fix some issues with large 3D scenes to QGIS.org, which the result of it will be announced soon. Hopefully, that will bring us closer to have globe feature.</div><div><br></div><div>For contributing to QGIS, if it is a small feature, you can submit a pull request and it will get merged after other developers review the code. For larger changes, you will need to submit a proposal to QGIS Enhancement Proposal [6] before hand to discuss the technical parts in details.
