<p>Good - so now we need someone to take the lead in approaching KDAB or other qt specialists.</p>

<p>I don't feel comfortable doing that, because I am not a qt/c++ dev and don't speak their language, but as soon as we have an estimate how much it would cost to fix upstream issues - and it is affordable for us, I can help you get a contract going between the qt specialist and QGIS.ORG.</p>

<p>So who would feel comfortable approaching KDAB or alternative companies?</p>

<br />Great! I personally see this as no different to hiring Even to<br />implement fixes in GDAL which directly affect QGIS. KDAB have a great<br />reputation, and all these bugs are unlikely ever to be fixed if we<br />don't directly interact with the Qt upstream project.<br /><br />
