<html><head></head><body><div style="font-family: Verdana;font-size: 12.0px;"><div>Hi,</div>
<div> </div>
<div>I am starting with qgis, but I am not enabling to have a proper installation.</div>
<div>Issues that come along</div>
<div>. I cannot install QGIS on a portable flash drive (USB-stick). The installer returns an error message that only local drives are permitted. The manual mentions this possibility. Unless it is hidden somewhere, I cannot find it. Please help me. </div>
<div>. When I install QGIS on the C-drive, an error returns saying that installing the open sans font failed. The error log shows that the connection to the githun. com host cannot be found. Of course it cannot, as I am doing an offline installation.</div>
<div> </div>
<div>I am using version 3.40.7 Bratislava or the latest LTR according to the website.</div>
<div> </div>
<div>The way I like to use QGIS:</div>
<div>. I am trying to install QGIS on a portable flash drive in order to be able to use it on different computers that I am using without the need for syncing and installing QGIS on each computer. Unfortunately, I cannot find a way to do so. The installer accepts only local hard drives, no flash drives (e.g. USB-sticks).</div>
<div>. Important: the main computer I am using has no internet connection (is a standalone unit), therfore, updating and downloading tools, plugins etc should be done to this flash drive when this flash drive is connected to a computer with an internet connection.</div>
<div>. Because of the above, work that I am doing in QGIS should also be saved to this flash drive.</div>
<div>. On geofabrik.de, lots of OSM-downloads are available. But is there a way that you can download only the baselayer and add (download) data as you need it.</div>
<div> </div>
<div>Please help me out.</div>
<div> </div>
<div>With kind regards.</div>
