Great to know, but the question is slightly different:
We used to keep the changelog in text format in a wiki page, using the
triple curly brackets to keep it unformatted. For that purpose,
mediawiki requires a more invasive markup. So I was asking what it is
better to do, disregard wiki rendering and focus on source or, as you
suggested, convert the text changelog in mediawiki format.
