 I don't think it's a packaging problem - I compiled a kakadu v5 plugin for
 Tim's GDAL and his Qgis has the same color issue.  My old Qgis 0.8 that
 Greg says works, also used an older GDAL (1.4 I think), so 2 items have
 changed here.  I tested with the same older Kakadu, though Greg has the
 latest v6.
