hello

I've one problem to use wms on a computer of my company. It's not actualy resolved but I know now that some security programs are able to disable some connections if the application, who tries to use these services, is not know by security program. It's why Internet Explorer and others can connect and unknown QGIS can't.

I've understood that before some explications of Informatique security responsable when i've connect a sniffer which was unable to see something of the transaction.

Hi list,
as described earlier [1], I encountered some problems when trying to load a 
wms-layer into my QGIS-project. The problem was that I was not able to 
connect to the WMS-layer (only a message box pops up, saying: Could not 
understand the response. The WMS provider said:").
I forgot to mention that this computer is connected to a LAN. Proxy 
information was also inserted into the wms-dialogue.

Then I tried to do the same thing at home (with direct access to the internet) 
- the layer was loaded correctly, no problems occurred.

My question therefore: does anybody know, what could be done to solve the 
problem? Maybe also a "security problem"? The funny thing is: I can perform a 
request with the same wms-provider on my browser. The map is drawn!

I would be happy to receive some ideas... ;)

ps: I use QGIS 0.8.0, prev. 2 on Debian.
