[Qgis-user] Resolution of Rendered Image

Is it possible for QGIS to render an image at a resolution other than what is 
currently displayed?

I would like to save an image file of a specified area using the original 
resolution of a raster map which is included in the project. Making the 
desired area fit on the screen reduces the rendered resolution to a fraction 
of the resolution of the original raster, resulting in a poor quality map 
image.
