[Qgis-user] Error at building qgis on linux

Hi!

Despite I'm following directions from Section 5 in
http://wiki.qgis.org/qgiswiki/BuildingFromSource#head-8e1e1ff25b5e9f587393e0592c0ff34891ec07cc

(well, to tell the truth, today I cannot run the ccmake .. step as there 
is a bug in the ubuntu repositories, see
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/cmake/+bug/239451   )

I still get the following error after make and don't see the way to 
solve this problem. Any suggestion on what I can do?:

make[2]: *** No rule to make target `/usr/lib/libgdal1.4.0.so', needed 
by `src/core/libqgis_core.so.1.0'.  Stop.
make[1]: *** [src/core/CMakeFiles/qgis_core.dir/all] Error 2
make: *** [all] Error 2

I'm using ubuntu 8.04
