[Qgis-user] converting .asc to .xyz

hi all!

I've got a real strange question..
Recently i got a lot of .asc files where the header is like:
ncols             5001
nrows             5001
xllcorner     -30000.5
yllcorner     174999.5
cellsize             1
NODATA_value      -999
 -999.00 -999.00 -999.00 -999.00 -999.00 -999.00

it seems that it is ESRIs .asc format but ...
i need to convert them into .xyz files but unfortunately it seems that 
i'm not able to do so ..

qgis can load those .asc files without any problem - but it seems i can 
not export it in any other format..

i downloaded GridConvert but although it seems to be the ESRI asc it 
says "Error reading file - please try another" .. maybe the file is too 
big with 200MB? But how do i convert it?
Thanks a lot for any hints, scripts or suggestions
