[Qgis-user] QGIS windows v's linux from a newbie perspective

Hi Darren,

If you are already familiar with Linux and have a Linux installation I
would recommend to use QGIS on Linux. It is also easier to install a
component or compile it yourself.

You are also more likely to get support on Linux or OSX since more
developers are using these platforms.

Also tools like GRASS are originally developed on Unix/Linux and later
ported to Windows.

If you aren't familiar with Linux and don't want to invest time, it will
also run fine on Windows or OSX.
