Hi

release early, release often: I'm working on a plugin that should help
you creating print compositions. Something like the QuickPrint plugin.
The main idea was to create a push button solution with some
flexibility. The user can define the available paper sizes and scales in
an XML file (preferences/preferences.xml). And there is some basic
support for creating your own layouts (layouts/layouts.xml); eg. footer,
header, text, icons, arrows etc. These layouts should then work with all
available papersizes.
The plugin can be found here: http://www.catais.org/qgis/plugins.xml

There are some PDFs which are created with the available layouts in the
plugin:
http://www.catais.org/qgis/easyprint/pdf/easyprint1.pdf
http://www.catais.org/qgis/easyprint/pdf/easyprint2.pdf
http://www.catais.org/qgis/easyprint/pdf/easyprint3.pdf

Compare these PDFs with the layouts defined in the layouts.xml file and
you should get a first impression how it works. This may help a bit:

It does not run on Mac OS X :-( There seems to be a bug in Qt or PyQt...

regards
Stefan
