No. I NEVER asked ONLY for a Mac OS X executable.
Several Linux users reported their Qgis used 100% of the CPU at start up for several minutes. So, for you to say there never was a problem under Linux is inaccurate. Paolo wrote on 7 Feb 2010 that the only Qgis Linux executable available was based on the old, version 12730 that takes several minutes to start up the sample .qgs project file.
