[Qgis-user] attribute table - area

When you identify a polygon feature using the Identify tool, the area is
shown in the "(Derived)" part .. just expand this to see the area if you
can't see it. Keep in mind that the units are in relation to the display
projection, so it may show either deg^2 or km^2 depending on your settings.

As mentioned before, this is a derived attribute from QGIS for the identify
tool. If you want to have this attribute set in the table, you have to do
fancy things in a PostGIS database using triggers or views.
