[Qgis-user] 3D View

Hi!

I appreciate and welcome a 3D Viewer very much - because thats one of
the things I would need also ..
But as I spoke to Marco Hugentobler on the Hackfest in Pisa it would
become more a "seperate" Application rather then a plugin - like
ArcScene for ESRI is.

I think for the Data Format (or whatever you like to Visualize) it will
be best to ask Marco because he did a very good job in creating the
"interpolation" plugin and knows the data formats very well.

For GRASS you mentioned - not all of GRASS is usable in QGIS (like the
nviz 3d viewer for e.g.). I know that it will be a lot of work to start
an 3D Viewer for QGIS (But I've seen some Qt Applications that look very
nive and AFAIK Qt supports OpenGL very well) but please start it and I'm
sure some people will join you.

Go for 3D! ;)
regards
Werner
