[Qgis-user] Re: WMS through https and basic auth

I am brand spanking new to this QGIS and to GIS in general. I am trying to
access a local server via WMS and get the same error message, "empty
capabilities document". I could not understand this thread and would be most
grateful to anyone who could tell me what to do. Sounds like I need a proxy
or something?
