[Qgis-user] distance grid

Is there a way in QGIS to create a distance grid?  Maybe some tool or method
I'm missing?

I have a coastal shore line (shapefile polygon in UTM) and I want to create
a raster grid with each cell representing distance to shore.   Thanks.
