[Qgis-user] Count polygons within a larger polygon

An instant thought, which is probably wrong. Could you use the vector tools to generate centroid points and count those?
Probably only going to work of the polygons are more-or-less regular. 

Do you know what is causing the difference in the count? Is it including partial polygons?
