[Qgis-user] finding xy values for txt/dbf table

You can digitize the points each with a unique ID similar to your
dbf/txt/excel.
Under Vector > Geometry Tools > Export/Add geometry.

You can then join the 2 table either in QGIS (join under Properties > Join
in 1.7) or in your favorite spreadsheet application (using vlookup
function for example).
