[Qgis-user] download qgis on mac os

Dear List,  I tried to download Qgis 1.8 and then 1.6 on a mac but got the error message .... gdal missing. On win7 every thing downloads and opens pretty easily. I  am a point and click user so I hope its something easy to miss. Any help would be greatly appreciated.      Thanks, John Rask
