[Qgis-user] error when installing new plugin

Hi, 
not sure if it helps, --configpath option could be a temporary workaround
(see manual, this allows to move profile in other location than default
%user% directory) . 
To use it in windows, a simple way is to modify the shortcut icon of qgis.
Add the following after the commandline finishing by "../qgis.bat"
--configpath "W:/myfolder/". 
take care of backslashes vs slashes, on Windows: see
http://hub.qgis.org/issues/6764#change-37330

restart and install a plugin with the installer. Check that W:/myfolder/ now
contains .qgis/ . If you get error messaging on plugin install, then you
used \ instead of /..
