[apologies for cross-posting]

Dear everyone,

The OSGeo-Philippines Local Chapter (OSGeo-PH) [0] is happy to
announce that we will have our very first FOSS4G event in the country.

This is in partnership with the Philippine Geomatics Symposium
(PhilGEOS 2012) on November 22-24, 2012 at the The College of
Engineering (CoE), University of the Philippines Diliman, Quezon
City.

PhilGEOS 2012 [1] is the 1st symposium on Geomatics in the
Philippines. It is envisioned to be a major gathering of educators,
researchers and the industry in the field of Geomatics from different
parts of the country.

The FOSS4G track will be a pre-symposium activity (Nov 22, 2012)
showcasing and demonstrating many of the Free open Source Geospatial
technologies. This will be full day of workshop and technical
demonstrations.

I am writing (shouting) to invite everyone (who is currently based in
the Philippines) to join and participate. We have an initial list of
topics [2], some of them do not have a lead facilitator for now. If
you are interested to lead the workshop please send me a message or
join the discussion in our local mailinglist [3].
