[Qgis-user] Split lines with polygons

Hello.

I apologize for asking such a basic question on the list. I found out that the Intersect function was what I needed.

But I tried it once and it did not work, so I asked here. I must have done something wrong the first time...

Is there a way in QGIS to split a line layer (ie streets) with a polygon layer (ie neighborhoods).

Ideally I would also want to add an attribute of the polygon (ie neighborhood name) to the each splited line.
