[Qgis-user] QGIS 2.0.1 can't load most of the raster layer from my old project

Maybe a file limit? OSX has a 256 files open limit per process. I know with shapefiles that's at least 3 files per shapefile. But I don't remember raster files being left open. Maybe that's something new with QGIS 2, and why the project still works in 1.8.

You could also try checking the files outside of QGIS in a Terminal with gdalinfo (in the GDAL framework) to see if GDAL 1.10 is having trouble with any of the files.

Most of them are .jpg files with relative aux.xml but I have GEOTIFF (and also Vector layers .shp )as well. All files are store inside different folder and sub folder but from the same folder some are loaded and some not.
