[Qgis-user] Reminder: Freeze starts on 2014-01-24 (4 days)

Not all! We could equally pick random names of peaks (or anything else) or do away with names completely. Although there does seem to be a tradition of naming QGIS releases and it seems like a nice thing to do. I, for one, like some sort of order or pattern but that's just me.

My children all have names but could also be called Development Release 1.0, Development Release 2.0 and Development Release 3.0 (I'm not sure when they become stable releases suitable for general release though).

Cheers

Ross

Hi!

Just a short question (maybe I am not getting something here)

Why do we need "sortable" aliasnames for releases that are still able to be sorted by the version numbers?
Is there any good reason for that?

regards
Werner
